Woman robbed in her own home

A pair of thieves robbed a 62-year-old woman in her own Fife home, police revealed yesterday.

Officers have appealed for informatio­n after the robbery in Alexander Street, Dysart, which happened on Tuesday.

The incident took place at around 8.45am.

A man working with another person robbed the woman in her home.

Jewellery and a money box containing a four-figure sum of cash were stolen.

One suspect is described as male, approximat­ely 40 years old, 5ft 10ins tall, and of skinny build.

He had a local accent and was wearing a blue hooded top.

The second suspect was described as being shorter than the first and also skinny.

The person, who may have been male or female, was wearing a cream baseball cap and according to the witness spoke with a “squeaky” voice.

Detective Sergeant Colin Potter from the police in Kirkcaldy is leading the investigat­ion.

He said: “This has been a distressin­g incident for the resident.

“I would appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed anything suspicious to contact the police.”
