Bank backs enterprise hub for Fife
Entrepreneurs and start-up businesses in Fife are to get a boost with the launch of a new Enterprise Hub.
The new centre will be based at banking giant RBS’s premises in Glenrothes’ town centre and will open its doors in the spring.
The vision is to offer a onestop shop to stimulate enterprise in the region.
The new unit will benefit from high speed broadband to enable web-conferencing and the delivery of training workshops and webinars.
Councillor Lesley Laird, depute council leader and economy and planning spokeswoman, said:“This approach to developing and running a successful creative enterprise hub will help strengthen the services that Fife Council’s Economic Development Team delivers, along with our key business delivery partners, including Business Gateway Fife and Royal Bank of Scotland.”
Malcolm Buchanan, RBS’s Scottish board chairman, said the bank was delighted to be involved with the project.
“Initiatives like this play an important role in driving enterprise and helping create an eco-system where entrepreneurs and communities can prosper,” Mr Buchanan said.
The Hub is one element of the Fife Task Force’s three-year Action Plan, which was created on the back of the closure of Tullis Russell and other firms.
