Chamber reveals exciting plans for the next 12 months
Following changes at Fife Chamber of Commerce last year, the team is greeting 2017 with a renewed focus on delivering for its members.
Over the past year, the core team has grown with new recruits, while existing long-term team members have taken up new roles.
Alan Mitchell succeeded Eric Byiers as chief executive, Paul Sykes came on board as membership executive and Shelby Prentice secured a permanent role as administrator.
Jacqui Curley has assumed the role of communications executive, Kelly Lister moves to events executive, with Marjory Seath as financial administrator.
In efforts to make a wide network even more accessible, 2016 saw the introduction of Fife Social, bringing people together for relaxed networking.
The first run was well attended with feedback overwhelmingly positive and the chamber is looking forward to developing the programme.
A clear objective is bringing its members together, cultivating collective thinking to build a stronger economy.
This year it plans to launch a Fife Learn masterclass and workshop series where each session will be introduced by industry leaders.
Mr Mitchell said: “Fife Chamber has a strong network built on a fantastic reputation for networking and events, but we have a responsibility to constantly challenge ourselves and our members to think differently and to make sure we are always providing the highest value possible.
“The chamber creates connections between businesses and it’s our duty to be as inclusive as possible, engaging with and delivering value for businesses of all sizes across the very wide range of business sectors based in Fife.”
He said the introduction of Fife Social proved the local business community was eager to get involved in events outside the traditional networking arena.
