An education with everything going for it
Nestling in the beautiful Perthshire countryside, Morrison’s Academy in Crieff offers all pupils aged three to 18 the opportunity to benefit from a first class outstanding education which is specifically tailored for each individual within a safe, caring and friendly environment.
The excellent academic teaching is led by specialists in sports, languages, drama and music. An extensive and growing range of subject choices, again with specialist teachers, is available for all senior pupils including a bespoke Sixth Year Programme.
The SQA results for 2016 are impressive:
The S4 pupils who sat National 5 examinations achieved a 98% pass rate and, of those, 68% were passed at Grade A.
Higher level candidates achieved a 93% pass rate, 56% of them at Grade A. And almost a third of all S5 pupils gained five straight As.
A total of 94% of all pupils passed the Advanced Higher examinations, 48% of them at Grade A.
The creative and performing arts are also well represented at Morrison’s with students taking part in a range of activities, performances and events throughout the year. These include the art and design exhibition, the Christmas choral concert, the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie and pipe band performances at home and abroad, in addition to numerous activities within the local community and beyond.
There is also a wide range of cocurricular activities on offer for pupils of all ages, designed to build skills, establish confidence and cultivate lifelong interests.
The Civics programme is an innovative and unique scheme at Morrison’s Academy. It provides core learning, not covered elsewhere in the curriculum, for all pupils from P1 to S6. The programme is designed around eight areas: relationships; health; religious and moral education; outdoors; society; careers; enterprise and miscellaneous. Through a diverse range of experiences and opportunities pupils are encouraged to develop self-esteem and selfawareness, interpersonal relationships, independence, decision-making skills and an awareness of their strengths and capabilities.
Local trips are organised routinely and, wherever possible, pupils are given the chance to have a truly global educational experience with the school arranging many European visits and exchanges. Opportunities to travel further afield including the USA, Africa and the Far East are also available to pupils.
If you live in or near Crieff, you will know how easy it is to travel to the school. Morrison’s also has excellent bus services from the Stirling, Dunblane, Auchterarder, Dunning, Bridge of Allan, Perth, Pitlochry and Aberfeldy areas.
A primary and nursery open morning will be held on Friday May 5 2017 from 10am. Staff will also be happy to organise an informal visit to the school, at your convenience, which will include a tour with one of the senior pupils.
