Fullerton’s move to Stars prompted by will to win

Dundee Stars’ new netminder Travis Fullerton revealed he quit Edinburgh Capitals as he was fed-up losing.

The Murrayfield men finished bottom of the 10-strong Elite League, and the former Braehead Clan star has switched to Dundee Stars.

The 29-year-old said: “I want to win. Last year was tough going to the rink some nights; you didn’t have much of a chance on some occasions.”

He said what Stars coach Marc Lefebvre did last year was “really special”.

“It’s a lot more fun going to the rink every day when you’re winning,” he added.

“I enjoy living in Scotland and I couldn’t be happier in joining Dundee.”

Meanwhile, Fife Flyers head coach Todd Dutiaume says American forward Shayne Stockton will be a key player for them next season.

Dutiaume confirmed that the 28-year-old is fully recovered from the lower body injury that limited his campaign last year.

And the coach said: “His absence (last season) left a hole.

“Shayne will be a key player for us next season. We know he has more to offer.

“The important thing is he’s skating again and we can’t wait him back into a Flyers jersey.”
