Arsenal of weapons discovered

A Hungarian worker arrived in Dunfermline to make a new start, armed with a crossbow, knuckleduster and knives.

Robert Kun had no place to live and planned to sleep in his car which was packed with “all his worldly possessions” when he was involved in an accident.

As a result, before he could start his new job at Amazon, Kun found himself imprisoned.

Kun, 32, of no fixed abode, appeared from custody with a translator at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on August 7 in Carnock Road, Dunfermline, he drove without insurance.

At the same location he was in possession of an offensive weapon, a crossbow, along with bolts and tips for it. He also had another offensive weapon, a knuckleduster.

Kun further admitted he was in possession of two knives.

Defence solicitor Chris Sneddon said: “The matter came to light as a result of a road accident. He had all his worldly possessions in his car.

“He was planning to sleep in the car and the knuckleduster was for his personal protection.”

The solicitor said the crossbow and knives were for hunting and were lying in the back of his car. Mr Sneddon said his client, who had been in custody since August 8, believed he would “definitely” still be able to find a job at Amazon.

Sheriff Alison McKay called for reports.

Kun was released on bail and will be sentenced on September 27.
