Planning the perfect Christmas party

-

The kids are back at school and while many of us are still waiting for summer to make an appearance, the more organised souls among us are making party plans for the festive season.

The festive booking period is in full swing and it is a good idea to get those parties organised now, especially if you want to bag your first choice of venue.

Why not plan a night out with colleagues, family or friends – there are so many options available that there will be something to suit your needs. Choose from bars and restaurants offering festive menus to party nights, pantos or children’s or adults’ Christmas shows to make the most of the party season.

If you are booking for a large number of colleagues, you may need to stick to hotels or other venues which can accommodate large groups.

Some offer great party nights, with a sit-down meal or buffet, followed by entertainment in the form of a live band, ceilidh or disco so you can all dance the night away together.

Check that the venue can accommodate your party – together with any special requirements such as wheelchair access or special dietary needs – before you book and don’t forget to reconfirm numbers closer to the night.

More informal lunch options are available at many restaurants and if you are a smaller party, why not opt for a local restaurant, which offers a Christmas menu featuring locally-sourced ingredients.

If you are having family to stay for Christmas, why not consider treating them (and yourself) to Christmas lunch in a hotel or restaurant this year.

Leave the cooking and washing up to the professionals while you enjoy a specially prepared roast with all the trimmings.

Whether you love the traditional roast turkey or fancy something a bit more unusual, there is a great choice of venues offering tempting festive fare.

Local restaurants and theatres can also offer great gift inspiration for those family members and friends who have everything – why not opt for a voucher for a show or favourite eatery so they can treat themselves to an evening out in the New Year. It can be just the treat to beat those January blues, especially when someone else has treated you to it.

Get organised now and the festive season will be even more fun-filled than usual!
