Sheep, but no castle
“Regarding the query about Dalmunzie,” emails Allan Bullions of Leven, “in a book published in 1899 by John A. R. Macdonald, CE and architect, he refers to Dalmunzie as a sheep grazing; there is no mention of a castle.
“The book title is The History of Blairgowrie.”
A Dundee reader also got in touch to say that the building was formerly known as Sloch-na-Craig when it was the home of Lord and Lady Birkmyre.”
