Bayview men are keen to move on

East Fife manager Darren Young has used the international break as an opportunity to put the 5-0 home defeat by Raith Rovers behind them.

The Bayview men are determined go into today’s game with Queen’s Park on the front foot.

Young said: “We are ready to go again after the disappointment of the Raith Rovers game. We had to get that out of our system and we did that in a closed-doors game with East Stirling that we won handsomely.

“We put in a very good performance in that game from two virtually different teams as I made seven changes at half-time.

“The players were told beforehand that starting jerseys were up for grabs and they all responded to that. I told them to put in a performance that would convince me to include them for the game with Queen’s Park.

“The response I received means that I have plenty to think about now in a positive sense.”

The Hampden side are undefeated on their last six visits to the Fifers’ ground.

Young said: “I know Queen’s Park well from last season where they did really well after being promoted.

“They will be disappointed at sitting at the bottom of the table just now and be out to change that at our expense.

“Gus MacPherson will have them fired up for this one, but if we go out and play in the same manner as I saw against East Stirling I will be pleased,” he added.

Goalkeeper Mark Hurst has been returned to Bayview on loan from St Johnstone and looks set to start.

Jonathan Page and Chris Kane are also in line for recalls, but Kevin Smith remains out.
