‘Brothers’ have festive musical cheer right down to a tee

- Blair dingwall

Two Fifers have swung back into action with their third Christmas music track – complete with a video filmed around the world’s most famous golf course.

The creative force of Garry Griffin and Uncle Isaac, who make up The Brothers Fife, are hoping to delight their fans with A Little Love For Christmas – a tale of the duo’s “coast to coast” search for love.

The music video, a throwback to the works of Scottish folk legends such as the Alexander Brothers and Andy Stewart, was filmed on location at the Old Course in St Andrews and on the town’s beach.

Donning their trademark denim jackets, kilts and tartan trews, the brothers belt out lines from their latest anthem.

Garry Griffin and Uncle Isaac are the stage monickers of Fifers Grant Jeffrey, from Kingskettle, and Andrew Lennie, from Newburgh, both aged 30. The pair found online fame after releasing their first festive song as The Brothers Fife in December 2015. Christmas Holidays was followed by Proclaimers tribute, Christmas (I’m A Fan) in 2016.

Mr Jeffrey said the songs had become their own festive tradition: “It is the third year in a row we have done it and the first year we have actually shot the video in Fife.

“Uncle Isaac is very keen on golf and it was always a dream of his to play the Old Course. We managed to get a photograph taken with the Dundee United under-21s while filming as well.

“This year, because our last one was really heavy on all the good materialistic things about Christmas, we thought we’d go for a classic love song.”
