Vincent doesn’t know what the future holds
Dunfermline loan star James Vincent admits his future remains shrouded in uncertainty after a fine start to his career at East End Park.
The 26-year-old arrived in Fife on loan from Dundee last month after failing to cement a first-team berth under Dee boss Neil McCann, making just five appearances this term.
However, with a year still to run on his contract with the Premiership strugglers, talks will be required in the summer to ascertain whether the former Inverness Caledonian Thistle favourite has a future at Dens Park.
Vincent has revealed that he is yet to seek out those assurances, choosing instead to focus on hitting the ground running with the Pars – which he did during his debut against Livingston on Saturday, garnering praise from manager Allan Johnston for his part in the 0-0 draw.
“I have another year left on my contract there, so we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it,” said Vincent.
“It’s not a conversation I’ve had, or even thought about having, with the manager (Neil McCann) or the club there. It was just a case of we kind of knew where we stood with each other and I needed to get out and play games.
“Everyone was happy for me to do that – the manager, (managing director) John Nelms there – and I’m glad the clubs agreed and got everything sorted.”
