Dundee clubs have all to play for

-

Two Dundee first division clubs face a significant weekend.

Grove Menzieshill should pick up three more points against bottom club Inverleith tomorrow but will find new leaders Kelburne a different proposition on Sunday.

Kelburne went top when Grange drew with Western Wildcats making the clash of the top two vital tomorrow.

Dundee Wanderers must pick up points to move clear of the relegation zone and they may just have good chances to do that against Edinburgh University and Hillhead.

The students are similarly placed to Wanderers, while Hillhead are second from bottom and probably clear of outright relegation.

Two successive away games might take a toll on Wanderers.

Second Division Gordonians have the more difficult task of the two promotion candidates when they face Carnegie, while Watsonians will relish the chance to pick up points against Granite City Wanderers.

Perthshire are only in action on Sunday and should easily retain third place at Stepps.

Harris’ opponents tomorrow are mid table Glasgow University and picking up even a point will be extremely difficult.

On Sunday they travel to play Granite City Wanderers – one place but eight points ahead.

The fact that this match is in Aberdeen will no doubt make it more difficult than it should be for Harris.

Monarchs face two Aberdeen teams, Third Division leaders Grammar tomorrow and University on Sunday.

Both local teams in the Regional League have two games.

Menzieshill II play Kelburne II and Uddingston II and the second at least should yield three points. Mid-table Wanderers II face Inverleith II and Falkirk II, the former being clear leaders in Central 2, while Falkirk are second bottom.
