ROCKTALK GIG GUIDE

-

The inimitable Cool Cat Chris Difford brings his new songbook – and book – to Inchyra Arts on Tuesday for a special acoustic show alongside another great songwriter, Boo Hewerdine.

Chris Difford is a rare breed. As a founder member of Squeeze he made a lasting contribution to music with hits such as Cool For Cats, Up The Junction, Labelled With Love and Tempted.

His legendary songwriting partnership with Glenn Tilbrook has helped soundtrack so many fans’ lives since the 1970s and the passion for innovation and love of playing still drives him.

Following the release of his autobiography Some Fantastic Place: My Life In and Out of Squeeze last year, Chris is on tour with Boo Hewerdine on his extensive Some Fantastic Acoustic Book Tour.

Chris will regale the audience about some of the key events in his life in music from the book and perform some of his biggest hits acoustically alongside tracks from Pants, a best-of album featuring songs from a stage play created by Chris and Boo a couple of years ago.

Chris says: “It’s a mixture of things, me talking about the book and Boo and me playing songs and the usual audience taking part and asking questions. It’s all very intimate.

“It’s my journey in my life outside of Squeeze as well, it’s an honest reflection of where I’ve been.

“I think the first part is amazing, because it describes my childhood and it takes me back to those golden days of music in the 70s, it was so incredible.”
