A great tribute

“I recently made a plea for seats near the check-outs in supermarkets for us oldies so that we could keep an eye out for our wives shopping without suffering aches from standing,” writes a Craigie regular.

“The staff in an Arbroath supermarket have already made this contribution to oldies’ welfare. As I left the check-out recently, I saw a wooden bench in just the right place for resting. It bore the following plaque: ‘In loving memory of our dear colleague, Marie Stewart’.
