Evans joins Leicester
Jonny Evans admitted he could not turn down “ambitious” Leicester as they finally struck a cutprice deal for a player they had a £23 million bid rejected for last summer.
The 30-year-old defender completed his move from West Brom to the King Power Stadium, subject to Premier League approval, for an undisclosed fee yesterday when he signed a threeyear contract.
It is understood the Foxes will pay around £3 million for the 70-times-capped Northern Ireland international after activating a relegation clause in his deal at the Hawthorns.
Evans told LCFC TV: “It’s great to join and I’m happy it’s all gone through.
“When this opportunity came up, it’s one that I couldn’t turn down. It’s an ambitious club, the owners are ambitious and everyone wants to push the club forward.”
Manchester City striker Olarenwaju Kayode has joined Shakhtar Donetsk for an undisclosed fee.
The Nigeria international, who was signed by City manager Pep Guardiola in a £3.5 million deal from Austria Vienna last August and then loaned out to Girona, has signed a five-year deal with the Ukrainian champions.
