Kean to fight for title in Glasgow

Dundee boxer Paul Kean will fight for the Scottish Super-Welterweight title against Stefan Sanderson on Friday September 14 at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza.

The fighter has won all eight of his bouts since turning pro and secured his first belt last month when he outpointed Irish fighter Jay Byrne for the BUI Celtic championship at the same weight.

Kean had been originally due to fight Sanderson – who has a 4-0 record – but he had to pull out because of illness.

However, the contest has now been re-arranged for September with the 25-year-old Dundonian looking to add the Scottish title to his Celtic one and hopefully shoot up the domestic rankings.
