DAIRSIE FOLK NIGHT A folk night in Dairsie Memorial Hall this Saturday will feature singer Bob Stewart.

Tickets will be available on the door, from 7.30pm, with the concert beginning at 8.

The event will raise funds for the Memorial Hall. FIFE FOLK MUSEUM Fife Folk Museum’s summer evening talks series will continue on Monday at 7pm in the Museum Visitor Centre.

Dr David Caldwell, chairman of Fife Cultural Trust, will speak about ‘Fife Treasures in the National Museum of Scotland’.

Admission is free but donations in support of the museum are much appreciate­d.

Tea and coffee are served after the talk. ST ANDREWS TALK A free film and talk by local journalist Lesley Riddoch will take place on Tuesday from 7pm in St Andrews Town Hall.

She will talk about Scotland’s place among the Nordic countries. BUILDING AWARDS Four site managers from Barratt and David Wilson Homes East Scotland have won Quality Awards in the first round of NHBC Pride in the Job Awards 2018.

Andy Crichton, Peter Lawrie, Colin Graham and Rooney McMeechan were recognised for their sites in Kirkcaldy, Dunfermlin­e, Edinburgh and Musselburg­h respective­ly. CYCLE TRAINING Greener Kirkcaldy is running another four-week basic cycle training programme, starting on Wednesday July 11 from 6-8pm, at Beveridge Park, Kirkcaldy.

Led by experience­d cyclist Jim Taylor, from Scottish Bike Touring, the free course aims to help people increase their cycling skills, gain confidence, learn new routes, meet other cyclists and get out on their bikes more.
