Ceres Highland Games rustled up a sizzling treat for the bumper crowds enjoying the glorious sunshine.

There were late entries to the heavy events in the form of celebrity TV chefs Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix, who found fame on Channel 4’s First Dates.

Heading around the country filming for a new food challenge show, The Ultimate Road Trip, the famous trio stopped off at the oldest free games in Scotland.

Resplendent in kilts, they served up a surprise treat for the spectators who converged on a sun-bathed Bow Butts.

The games attracted its biggest crowd for a number of years

for a number of years, probably due to the weather and the fact that no other Highland games were scheduled in Scotland at the weekend.

They were treated to an action-packed afternoon, which saw records smashed in the heavy events.

There was also a record entry of 110 contestants in the dance competition.

On the track there were treble wins for games debutante Robert Sparks, from St Andrews, in the open 800m, 1,600m and 3,000m handicap.

Also scoring a hat-trick was Kirkcaldy cyclist Paul Gallacher, who took the 800m and 3,000m handicaps and De’il Tak’ the Hindmost.
