CATTLE

Aberdeen Angus: Alan Rennie, Mosston Muir Farm, Guthrie, Forfar, with four-yearold bull Mosston Muir Excaliber by Peter Pershore and out of Mosston Muir Emily. Reserve interbreed at Fife, champion at Angus and Alyth. Also reserve with seven-yearold cow Mosston Muir Tidy Bee by Mosston Muir Innes and out of Mosston Muir Tidy Blunder.

Commercial: Wilson Peters, Cuilt Farmhouse, Monzie, with 13-month-old Limousin cross British Blue heifer Adora Derriere by Powerhouse Harlequin. Doune and Dunblane champion and first in her class at RHS. Reserve: Peter McLaren Muirhouses Farm, Kirriemuir, with January-born heifer calf by Limousin stock bull, Norman Gammon, and out of a cross Limousin dam. Also won best calf bred by exhibitor.

Limousin: Ranch Livestock with 16-month-old heifer Derg Nancy by Lodge Hamlet and out of Roundhill Inora. Reserve at Angus show. Reserve: William Lawson Windsole, Auchterard­er, with heifer Windsole Nell by Treuman Jugger and out of Windsole Ivy.

Simmental: G&M Smith, Drumsleed, Fordoun, with rising two-year-old heifer Drumsleed Hilight by Grangewood William and out of Drumsleed Evita 13 which was reserve junior champion at RH S and champion at Fettercair­n. Also reserve with three-yearold cow Drumsleed Gretel 15 by Haystar Cracker and out of Drumsleed Butterscot­ch. First in class at RHS.

Highland: Ranch Fold, the Ranch, Letham with heifer Eleanor of Ubhaidh by Fergus of Ubhaidh and out of Alice 1st of Earn. Champion at RHS in 2017. Also reserve with bull Magnus of Ubhaidh with the same breeding as the champion. A first prize winner at local shows. Young handler: Ruby

Simpson. SHEEP Suffolk: Clare Ann Anderson, Castle Street, Forfar, with two-crop ewe Donbraid Connie by Strathbogi­e Diesel and out of a Donbraid ewe, bought as a ewe lamb at the Donfraid dispersal, and a first prize winner at RHS. Reserve: Gordon Mackie with a ram lamb.

North Blackface: Mark Simpson, Athole Street, Blairgowri­e, with a gimmer bought from Cadogan Estates by a £2,500 Chamberwel­ls sire and a £3,000 Calla. Reserve: Duncan Beaton with a homebred ram lamb, the son of an Achnacloic­h tup.

South Blackface: Mark Simpson with a three-crop ewe by a Dullatur tup which was reserve at Angus and Alyth. Reserve: Tay & Torridon Estate, North Amulree, Dun keld, with a two-shear £5,000 Elmscleugh ram bought as a shearling at Dalmally and shared with Connachan and Traquair Hill.

Texel: A&T Greenhill, Westhall Farm, Kellas, with a ewe lamb by Knap Alligator and out of a Knap gimmer. First at Alyth. Reserve: Steel & Close, Craignathr­o Farm, Forfar, with a tup lamb.

Beltex: Graham and Fiona Burke, Cairndrum Cottage, by Edzell with a two-crop ewe by Broxty Wishful Thinking and out of an Airyhollan­d-sired ewe. Champion at Angus. Reserve: Ian Reid, Isle Cottage, Methven, with three-crop ewe Aviemore Wilma by Artnagulli­on Top Dog and out of Aviemore Pepsi. Interbreed champion at Kirriemuir last year and breed champion at Stirling.

Any other breed: Andrew and James Adam, Newhouse of Glamis, Glamis, with a BlueFaced Leicester tup lamb by a £2,500 Peel View sire and out of a home-bred ewe. On her first outing. Reserve: David Soutar, Strathelli­e, Alyth, with a ewe lamb.

Commercial: Andrew Beattie, Tulliwhanl­and Farm, Aberlemno, with three homebred Texel cross gimmers on their first outing. Reserve: David Black, Minard, Cortachy Road, Kirriemuir. Young sheep handler:

Clydesdale: Sandy Aitken, Newton Cottage, Memus, Forfar, with 10-year-old mare Redcastle Pretty Amazing Grace by Millisle Solway Bat and out of Redcastle Miranda. RHS champion in 2014 and on her first show outing this year. Reserve: Rolling Thunder Clydesdale­s, Pinehurst, Luthermuir, Laurenceki­rk with six-year-old gelding Rolling Thunder Mr Bojangles by Singlie Storm and out of Heatherwic­k Lady Penelope. Reserve at Fettercair­n.

Harness: Coline McCulloch and Laura Crooks, Luncarty, with farm cart harness on Elvis Inspiratio­n. Reserve: Robert Rae, Balbeggie, Perth, with farm cart harness on Paddy.

Light-legged: Hilary Mackie, Denside, Glenogil, Forfar, with in-hand Thoroughbr­ed, King Brex by Primatico and out of Moonshine. Reserve: Aimee Hugill Rumbleyond, Rickarton, Stonehaven, with Terrano Anwen.
