CUBS APPEAL Newburgh Cubs is desperatel­y seeking two assistant cub leaders to start its new term in August and keep the group going.

There are 27 cubs, boys and girls aged eight to 10-and-ahalf from Newburgh and the surroundin­g area.

A spokespers­on said: “Unfortunat­ely, if we can’t find new assistant leaders, the group will be suspended.

“Duties include taking register, subs, updating the Facebook page, setting up equipment and helping with the activities.”

Cubs meet on a Tuesday evening from 6.15-7.15pm in the TICC in Newburgh. Email cubscoutsn­ewburgh@gmail.com for more informatio­n.

STAMP CLUB

The next meeting will be held today at Torbain Parish Church on Lindores Drive in Kirkcaldy.

Entry is £2 and selling and swapping stamps and postcards is permitted.

FLOWER SHOW Letham Flower Show is holding its annual garden competitio­n on Saturday August 4.

It is open to anyone living within a seven-mile radius of Letham and includes categories such as cottage garden, landscaped garden, vegetable garden, tub or hanging basket.

Anyone wishing to enter should let the secretary Alison McDonald know by July 27 by calling 01337 810250.

FOLK CLUB Dunfermlin­e Folk Club is hosting a session night in the Glen Tavern at 8pm today. All singers, musicians and listeners are welcome and a collection will be taken for club funds.

COFFEE MORNING

The St Andrews League of Hospital Friends is holding its annual coffee morning on Saturday in the Town Hall, from 10am to 11.30am.

Ticket price is £2. All proceeds will help improve local medical facilities.

STRAWBERRY FAIR Homelands’ annual fundraisin­g Strawberry Fair takes place in the Paxton Centre on Sunday between noon and 4pm. There will be a cake and candy stall, cards and crafts and a charity draw to win a short break at Homelands.

Tickets are £4 and will be on sale at reception on the day.
