3D Festival Friday evening tickets:

Does it matter when I enter the ballot/does entering early mean I’m more likely to get a ticket?

You have a full two weeks to enter the ballot. Tickets will be allocated at the end of the ballot period.

Why are you balloting tickets, instead of first come, first served?

We want to ensure a fair balance of access across all our audiences. By using a ballot system we are able to ensure a high proportion of tickets go to our locallybased audiences and young people.

How are you ensuring enough locals get tickets? The ballot system ensures that at least 55% of tickets for the Friday 3D Festival goes to local audiences, resident in DD postcode areas. We will also be distributing tickets through the city’s community engagement network and Young Scot networks.

What measures are in place to prevent ticket touts selling 3D Festival Friday evening tickets?

All 3D Festival tickets are non-transferable and will be allocated following a postcode ballot, with a maximum of four tickets per person. To help prevent tickets being sold on, a confirmation message will be sent after the ballot closes, but tickets will not be issued until a week before the event.

The following questions relate to museum entry during its opening weekend:

Why are the first two days ticketed?

Due to anticipated high levels of interest, free entry to V&A Dundee will be ticketed over the opening weekend to ensure visitors have the best possible first experience of the museum. Book your tickets by visiting our website.

Are tickets free/how much are tickets for museum entry on the opening weekend?

Tickets to the museum on the opening weekend are free but need to be booked in advance, on a first come, first served basis. Beyond the first two days of opening, general entry to V&A Dundee will always be free and won’t require a ticket (with the exception of some temporary exhibitions).

How many tickets can I book?

To ensure as many people as possible have access to tickets for museum entry on the opening weekend, these are limited to four per email address across the two days.
