Justin Currie solo gig among ‘Fifer’ events
Del Amitri frontman Justin Currie is to play a rare solo show in Kirkcaldy this autumn as part of a bumper programme of events.
The 53-year-old has been confirmed for the Adam Smith Theatre on October 20 as part of the popular Tae Sup Wi a Fifer series.
Idlewild singer Roddy Woomble is also being lined up for a trip to the Lang Toun in November.
The news comes as ONFife unveiled its autumn/winter programme of events planned across the kingdom.
In theatres, Fife will welcome ’80s heartthrob Jason Donovan and ex-Runrig frontman Donnie Munro to Carnegie Hall for two nights of story and song.
A Fife exclusive will see Scottish Album of the Year award winners Aidan Moffat and RM Hubbert perform.
In Glenrothes, original X Factor sensations G4 and disco king Leo Sayer bring the dance to Rothes Halls, while Lochgelly Centre beckons rock godfathers Wishbone Ash and folk legend Rab Noakes to the region.
Festive treats are also in store as Imagine Theatre prepares a new take on Beauty And The Beast for Adam Smith Theatre and Tiny Little Christmas Festival returns to Carnegie Hall.
In museums, Paper From Across The Sea opens alongside the familyfriendly gardening show, Blooming Marvellous, which people can see at Dunfermline Carnegie Libraries and Galleries until October.
In Kirkcaldy Galleries, 120 years of Kirkcaldy Photographic Society will be celebrated with a major retrospective and talks and events.
Libraries will celebrate National Libraries Week in October, Book Week Scotland in November and an ongoing range of dementiafriendly events throughout the season.
There will also be Fun Palaces, where art and science will combine in a range of activities for all ages.
In Scotland’s Year of Young People 2018, a gig has been planned in partnership with a group of winter high school leavers on November 2 at the Rothes Halls.
