Laszlo expects to add two more as Tangerines eye title challenge

“If you win, everyone is more positive and everyone is happier. That is what we have to do now.

“Hopefully, this week we can hopefully bring one or two new players in to help us.

“We are looking and we are working on it. We are still not complete and we don’t want to just make a quick decision.

“We have some people in mind and if it is possible we can say yes.

“In every position, we want two players and at the moment still we are thinking we definitely need one or two players.

“Toni Vastic is OK because we know him and we’ve tested him. He will stay with us until Friday.

“We are not under pressure to make a quick decision so he can stay until that time.

“He has made a good impression in training.”

There was mixed injury news for the Tangerines as they prepared to welcome the Pars.

Billy King is already ruled out but Craig Curran has finally recovered from his dead leg.

Laszlo said of the latter player: “Craig trained with us even last week so he will be, if nothing happens, part of the team.”

Stewart Murdoch’s knee is causing concern but he will train with the rest of the squad today.

Meanwhile, former United player Cammy Ballantyne could miss out on his debut for new club Dumbarton at East Fife on Saturday due to a troublesome thigh injury.

The 21-year-old, who helped Montrose to the League One title last season during a loan period, has yet to feature for the Sons and manager Stephen Aitken’s plans to include Ballantyne against the Fifers suffered a setback at the weekend.

Aitken said: “Cammy had been progressing well and was probably 75% ready at the weekend. However, he took part in the warm-up against St Mirren and felt a problem again so he is very doubtful for East Fife.”
