Two hurt in crash on busy road
Two people were injured in a road accident in north-east Fife.
The crash near Luthrie was one of two on the A92 in the kingdom yesterday morning.
A man and woman were hurt, but their injuries were not believed to be serious.
The road was closed for more than an hour when two cars, one a red Vauxhall, collided at around 11.15am.
Motorists on the main road were diverted while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Witnesses reported seeing two ambulances rush to the scene.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “At about 11.15am on Sunday August 5, police responded to a report of a twocar road traffic collision on the A92 near Kilmany.
“Police and other emergency services attended and it was established a male and female had both sustained injuries.
“The road was closed in both directions.”
Just 20 minutes earlier a car overturned further south between Cowdenbeath and the M90.
There was no indication anyone was hurt.
Traffic Scotland described the incident as a multi-vehicle road traffic collision but it is understood other cars stopped were there so occupants could offer assistance.
One lane of the dual carriageway southbound was blocked and motorists had been advised to take care while passing.
