LEAGUE OF FRIENDS St Andrews League of Hospital Friends held a collection at Morrisons in St Andrews, raising £792.

The group has thanked volunteers, all those who contribute­d and the supermarke­t.

Newburgh and District Gardening Society’s annual open flower, food and craft show is being held today in the Tayside Institute in Newburgh.

WALKABOUT Kirkcaldy Civic Society’s annual family walkabout and quiz takes place tomorrow, leaving from the Raith Gates entrance to Beveridge Park at the top of Nicol Street at 2pm.

The event is open to everyone and will test people’s knowledge of Kirkcaldy’s history. The walk will finish at the Old Kirk, Kirk Wynd.

SERVICE

There will only be one service of Culross and Torryburn Church tomorrow to enable the church to set up its stalls at Culross fete and farmers’ market. The service will take place at 9.45am in High Valleyfiel­d Church.

HISTORY SOCIETY

The next meeting of Newburgh Ancestry and History Society is at 7pm on Monday in the Lower Laing building in the High Street.

DC Thomson archivist David Powell will talk about the company’s archives.
