Rotary’s 30 years with the stars
As the stars of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship jet into town, St Andrews Rotary Club celebrates 30 years’ association with the event this year.
The club will hold its annual raffle at the Old Course and at Kingsbarns at the invitation of the Alfred Dunhill Links Foundation.
The main prize is dinner with wine, bed and breakfast for two at the St Andrews Old Course Hotel.
All money raised goes to more than 30 individuals, organisations and charities supported by the Rotary Club of St Andrews.
A spokesman for the club said: “We are grateful to IMG whose people have been so helpful to us over the past 30 years.
“During all of that time we have been fortunate to enjoy the support of the golfing public from the four corners of the world. Together they have enabled us to help people around the world to the tune of an amazing £150,000.
“We are confident this year’s visitors will help us add to this total.”
The event, which takes place from Thursday to Sunday, will host some of the world’s best golfers alongside celebrities from the arenas of TV, music and sport. Admission is free for the first three days, with tickets on the gate on Sunday.
The club holds a raffle draw each day with prizes for golfers and non-golfers and a star prize on the final day.
