Fyffe fined by SFA

Dundee United director and partowner Jimmy Fyffe has been hit with an SFA fine after admitting breaching gambling rules.

The businessman has emerged as a major powerbroker at Tannadice following the departure of former chairman Stephen Thompson in the summer.

Fyffe was hit with an SFA notice of complaint in September accused of contravening disciplinary rule 31, which states that ‘no club, official, team official or other member of team staff, player, match official or other person under the jurisdiction of the Scottish FA shall gamble in any way on a football match’.

Fyffe admitted the breach at a hearing and was fined £500.
