Pipers to play across the country

Musicians will take part in early events across Tayside and Fife tomorrow.

Pipers will perform at 6am in the UK-wide A Nation’s Tribute, playing Pipe Major William Robb’s composition When the Battle’s O’er.

Locations include the cenotaph in Scone, St Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral in Dundee, the war memorial in Forfar at Balmashanner, Monifieth Parish Church, and Falkland Palace.

Soloists and bands featuring buglers and trumpeters will take part in The Last Post at 6.55pm at public sites.

Stuart Letford, who has helped co-ordinate events, said: “There are a number of events taking place – I’ll be playing myself at the memorial above Dunkeld in Perthshire.”
