Thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused when fire ripped through four classrooms of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. The blaze started in an unoccupied workshop at the rear of the north wing of the college’s Crawford Building, Hawkhill Place, just before 9pm. It spread quickly to an adjacent classroom before moving upwards to engulf two rooms above. Students were evacuated to the front concourse and emergency services were soon on the scene.
