Residents urged not to shiver in silence but call Cosy Kingdom

-

Fife residents who are struggling to stay warm this winter are being urged to contact advisers at Cosy Kingdom for help.

Labour MSP Alex Rowley is urging people to reach out to the organisation for help and support as the cold weather begins to bite.

The organisation, which has an advice hub in Kirkcaldy, can also help with providing homewares to help keep the heat in during the winter months.

Mr Rowley said: “For a lot of people this winter it will be a struggle to heat their home whether that is down to poor energy efficiency or a simple lack of money.

“However, I would urge anyone that finds themselves in this situation to get in touch with Cosy Kingdom.”

He said the group could help with understanding energy bills, switching suppliers, applying for a warm homes discount and checking on benefits eligibility and funding and grants for new heating systems.

“They can even help install new light bulbs, warm curtains and provide loans of space heaters, so anyone struggling should see if they can help them,” he said.

“This winter, no one should suffer without help, and I would urge people to get in touch with Cosy Kingdom to find out how they can help.”

Cosy Kingdom is a partnership between Greener Kirkcaldy, St Andrews Environmental Network and Citizens Advice and Rights Fife.

It has provided free energy and debt advice to more than 5,000 householders.

It can be reached by phone on 01592 858458 or via email on info@cosykingdom.org.uk.
