Ferguson aims for Kelty to stroll to win in capital

-

Barry Ferguson will be wanting his Kelty Hearts side to bounce back from last week’s Lowland League defeat to BSC Glasgow when they travel to the capital to take on Civil Service Strollers.

Hearts will be without both Ciaran Chalmers and Stephen Husband through suspension as they look to keep the pressure on leaders East Kilbride, who face bottom club Whitehill Welfare.

In the latest tough fixture for Hill of Beath, the Fife side travels to take on Newtongrange Star in the South Region Challenge Cup.

The sides are no strangers to each other as they are both fighting at the top of Conference A in the East of Scotland League.

Haws boss Kevin Fotheringham is without the injured pair of Lewis Elder and Michael Watt but otherwise has a full squad to pick from.

Oakley United have just 10 games left of their Central Taxis East of Scotland League Conference A league season and it is looking unlikely the Fife club will be in the all important top five come the season end.

However, they have shown some improvement of late and will be looking to take the points from the visit of Arniston Rangers.

Leading scorer James McAteer will be hoping he can maintain his rich vein of form.

Dundonald Bluebell will want to be ready for any possible slip-up by Conference B leaders and title favourites Bonnyrigg Rose as they take on Tynecastle at Moorside Park.

Bluebell were comfortable winners 4-2 at Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale last weekend and manager Jason Dair expects to have the same squad available.

Burntisland Shipyard went down 3-1 last time out at Dalkeith Thistle but will be looking to take all three points from the visit of bottom club Eyemouth United to Fife.

Jeanfield Swifts sit a point behind Conference C leaders Linlithgow Rose following last week’s win over rivals Broxburn Athletic.

This weekend Ross Gunnion’s men entertain Heriot Watt University at Riverside looking to consolidate second. Gunnion expects to have a similar squad available that beat Broxburn.

League strugglers Inverkeithing Swifts face another of the club in the bottom half as they take on Edinburgh United at Ballast Park.

Lee Duffy expects to have the same squad available that lost last weekend at Preston Athletic.

St Andrews United’s results have continued to be up and down, with defeat following a victory and this weekend they host the league leaders Linlithgow Rose at Barnetts Park.

Saints boss Andy Brown is able to welcome back Daryl Falconer and Michael Fleming but Paul Quinn is suspended and a hip injury rules out Nick Rendall.
