Blue Brazil face a tough test against the Blue Toon

-

Cowdenbeath head north to face a second-placed Peterhead side that Mark Fotheringham believes will end the season in top spot.

However the Blue Brazil’s assistant manager insists that the Central Park men are not travelling in fear.

Fotheringham said: “We watched Peterhead draw at Edinburgh City on Tuesday night. They dominated large parts of the game and I thought that after they got ahead, they would stay ahead however they had to settle for a draw.

“They are a good side who are still a couple of points behind Edinburgh but in my opinion, they are the team that will be promoted.

“They have Simon Ferry and Derek Lyle to add to the team that we saw in midweek, but we are on a good run of results, the type of run a team going for promotion would be pleased with.

“We also know that on our day we can match any team in this league and we will look to prove that at Balmoor.”

The Blue Brazil have picked up eight points from their last four League Two games, and will be looking to build on their display against Clyde last weekend.

Fotheringham said: “We did really well to get a foothold and come out of it with a 1-1 draw. Clyde started off on top and scored a good goal, but we reacted to that by changing our shape, twice, and got back into things.”

Former Airdrie and Wolves player Jordan Allan scored a second half equaliser that delighted Fotheringham, who said:

“Jordan only joined us a few weeks ago but he is getting fitter and stronger. I am delighted for the kid that he got a goal as he was a bit disillusioned with football after a succession of knockbacks.

“However, we have taken him under our wing and given him a chance and he has responded well.”

Robbie Buchanan misses out through suspension with at Scullion and Martin Scott remaining out through injury.
