Woman left needing medical help after fire in flats bin store

A woman had to be helped by paramedics after a fire in a block of flats in Kirkcaldy.

The blaze broke out in the bin store of the flats on Pratt Street at around 7.30pm on Friday.

Firefighte­rs from the town’s station and the ambulance service were sent to the scene.

It is understood police closed the road, near Stark’s Park football stadium, while the flames were extinguish­ed.

A spokeswoma­n for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “There was a fire on the ground floor bin store.

“A female received precaution­ary checks from the ambulance service.”
