Firefighters dig out inquisitive spaniel from rabbit hole
An inquisitive dog sparked an emergency response when it got stuck down a rabbit hole.
Firefighters had to dig the cocker spaniel out after it was unable to back out of the small tunnel.
They were called to Lower Largo beach on Sunday morning after the pooch’s worried owner realised it was stuck.
The drama occurred shortly after 9.30, but the dog was brought back to the surface unharmed.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “A crew from Methil attended Lower Largo beach.
“Firefighters used shovels to dig out a bit and free the dog.”
