Man locked up for two assaults
A man has been locked up for a series of offences including two violent assaults – one on the day of Inverkeithing Highland Games.
Jamie Napier, 20, was imprisoned for more than 28 months when he appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He assaulted Lewis Allen in Inverkeithing on August 4, 2017, leaving him unconscious and with serious facial injuries.
At CJs pool hall in Rosyth on October 13 he assaulted Lee Russell to his injury, kicking him on the head and rendering him unconscious, under provocation.
Napier, of North Street, Lochgelly, also broke into a house in Lochgelly on May 10 and stole a television, sound bar and two bags, and on November 24 acted in an aggressive manner and threatened violence at Coral bookmakers, Rosyth.
He admitted most of the offences but was found guilty of the assault to severe injury in Inverkeithing, where he also shouted and challenged others to a fight under provocation.
Inverkeithing was busy, with a funfair in the High Street, on the day Napier assaulted Mr Allen.
Friends of the victim rushed from the Hat and Ribbon bar and found him lying unconscious with Napier standing over him.
Napier told police he was acting in self defence but admitted punching Mr Allen when he was on the ground in Back O’Yards.
