Clock is ticking for Cherries entries
Time is running out to get your entries in for DC Thomson’s 2019 Cherries Awards! Hundreds of people are expected to attend the annual event at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on May 30.
A celebration of the very best individuals and teams within HR, training and recruitment from across Scotland, the Cherries Awards highlight the work done by professionals in organisations of all sizes and in all sectors.
This will be the 12th year the awards have been staged. There are 10 categories to enter and one individual will walk off with the coveted Top Cherry award for their outstanding contribution to the industry. It’s never been easier to enter the awards, as people can apply online at cherriesawards.co.uk using a new, streamlined form.
Those shortlisted will be interviewed by the judges before the final selection is made.
Categories include everything from Excellent HR Manager to Fantastic HR Adviser to Terrific Team of the Year.
Entries are open until midnight on Sunday February 10.
Karen Buchan, People Services Manager at Balhousie Care Group, won the Fantastic HR Advisor category in 2018.
“The award has attracted lots of positive comments from people within my organisation, as well as the chambers of commerce, press and other employers through LinkedIn,” she said.
Karen, who intends to nominate a member of her team for this year’s awards, praised the event and said it was a “glamorous and fun evening that helps to reinforce the professionalism of the HR field, and recognises the hard work and effort from both individuals and teams.”
She added that she was delighted to have won and “very humbled” given the high number of applicants and standard of finalists selected for her category.
“To anyone thinking of entering Cherries 2019, I’d say absolutely do it,” said Karen.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity and a great event to attend, not only for the possibility of winning but for networking and getting to know others in the industry.”
