Age discrimination worry
Half of workers over the age of 60 are not ready to retire, but many believe there is age discrimination in their company, a new study suggests.
Insurance giant Aviva said one in four employers is concerned about age discrimination.
One in five of 2,000 workers surveyed said they feel younger colleagues are favoured over older members of staff, and a similar number believe age is a career barrier.
Lindsey Rix of Aviva said: “Age should not be a barrier to opportunity, but our findings suggest employees are worried about age discrimination.
“Evolving social and workplace trends mean we must all be prepared for a more fluid working life.”
