Spar supplier lands major milk deal

Dundee-based Spar supplier CJ Lang and Son yesterday announced it had entered into a deal with Stirling-based Graham’s The Family Dairy.

Graham’s will provide milk across all of the 300 Spar stores in Scotland under the terms of the two-year deal.

Colin McLean, chief executive of CJ Lang and Son, said: “Spar Scotland actively works with local Scottish producers to provide a real point of difference for customers.

“With more than 300 Spar stores trading in Scotland this secures security of supply for all their farming partners across Scotland.

“This year CJ Lang & Son Ltd is celebratin­g 100 years rooted in Scottish communitie­s and Graham’s is celebratin­g its 80th anniversar­y.

“It’s great that these two genuinely Scottish family businesses will be working together to supply Scottish milk to all our customers, which we believe will be the start of a long-term partnershi­p.”

Graham’s The Family Dairy’s managing director Robert Graham said: “This is a significan­t contract for us and is very positive news for our farming partners and around 700 colleagues across Scotland.”
