LFASS payments on way next week says minister
The latest tranche of Less Favoured Area Support Scheme (LFASS) payments will be delivered to farmers and crofters next week.
Payments worth £15 million will be made to about 2,600 hill farmers and crofters.
The delivery date was announced by Scottish Government Farming Minister Mairi Gougeon. She said: “With these payments we will have now made more than £39m of LFASS 2018 payments, directly supporting vital remote and rural communities and economies.
“I believe we must help those who need help the most and, with further payments being made in the coming weeks, I am confident the majority of awards will be made by the end of June in line with our payment schedule.”
