Dokens edged out by Bleachers in thriller

-

North League runners-up Luncarty edged out champions North End 3-2 at Brownlands Park last night,

Goalless at the break, the Bleachers scored three times in the first 13 minutes of the second half through Jake Dolonski and a Fraser Mills double.

However, the Dokens quickly replied with goals from Liam McCartney and Frankie Devine but couldn’t conjure up an equaliser in the remaining 25 minutes.

Kinnoull took a major step towards securing a place in the Super League next season, their convincing 4-0 win at Lochee Harp moving them up to third in the North League.

And barring an unlikely heavy defeat to Forfar Albion, they will qualify for the top flight.

Ben Ragan, Mark Smith with a double and Fraser Morrison were their scorers.

Broughty Athletic came from two down to oust Carnoustie from the Thorntons Property League Cup to set up a last eight tie away to fellow Super League stablemates Fauldhouse United.

Gordon MacDonald struck twice for the Gowfers but these were cancelled out by a Josh Skelly double.

John Farquharson then put the Fed in front and Skelly completed his hat-trick to seal their passage.

East Craigie, who had already qualified for a trip to Pumpherston in the quarter-final of the Thorntons Property League Cup, continued their impressive form in this competition with a second convincing 4-1 win over Lochee United to finish their section undefeated.

Jordan Conway’s goal on the half-hour mark gave the Shipbuilders an interval advantage and a double from Euan McIlvenny extended their lead before Connor Birse pulled one back for the Bluebells.

However, Connan Howitt added a fourth .

In Group D Fauldhouse United beat Thornton Hibs 2-0.
