Mexican too strong for Perth player Stewart
Perth squash player Rory Stewart was unable to upset the rankings as he bowed out in the quarter-finals of the Resistencia Open in Argentina.
The unseeded 22-year-old had beaten eighth seed Tomotaka Endo in the previous round, but Mexican fourth seed Leonel Cardenas is world-ranked 72 places higher than Stewart and proved too strong for the Scot.
Cardenas eventually prevailed 11-8, 6-11, 11-5, 11-5 after the first two games were shared.
Stewart will complete his fourweek South American tour at next week’s Paraguay Open in Asuncion.
