Fifers closing in on Grant Anderson

Raith Rovers are closing in on bringing former favourite Grant Anderson back to the club after a three-year gap with the Kirkcaldy club also keen on Airdrie defender Kieran MacDonald.

Wide-man Anderson first joined the Kirkcaldy men in 2012 after spells at Stenhousem­uir and Hamilton with the now 32-year-old spending four seasons at the club during which time he scored 16 times.

Anderson who was on the bench when Raith lifted the Ramsdens Cup at the expense of Rangers in 2014 moved on to Queen of the South before playing for Peterhead and Stranraer where he has spent the past two seasons.

Raith are also keen on defender MacDonald who was recently placed on the transfer list by the Diamonds.

The 25-year-old started his career off at Hamilton and he played for Clyde, Dumbarton and East Fife before joining Airdrie in January 2016.
