VOLLEYBALL

SCOTLAND JOY Scotland recorded their first win over England in a men’s volleyball international for seven years, triumphing 25-23 25-18 25-23 at Perth College.

England led 19-11 and 21-16 in the third set as they looked set to extend the match beyond three sets but Scotland stormed back to win in straight sets.

Two former pupils from Kinross High School were in the Scotland team, with Jack McKelvey and Mark Cathro playing their part in the historic victory. Meanwhile another former Kinross pupil, Mitchell Brown, was in Ireland competing for Scotland in the SCD (Small Countries Division) Beach Volleyball Championships.
