Johnston, secretary, submitted his report at the annual meeting sand stated that the average weekly attendance at the Sabbath morning free breakfast was 282 and 24 workers. This showed a decrease of 13 and 5 respectively. This decrease was not to be wondered at as many of the children who formerly required a free breakfast were not now in need of this owing to the higher wages coming into the homes.

Dundee City Council’s Brexit stance should be used to lobby for Dundee’s future, a senior councillor has said. Labour leader Bailie Kevin Keenan’s comments come as the local authority moves to condemn the UK Government’s “chaotic” handling of negotiations to leave the EU. SNP administration leader Councillor John Alexander tabled a motion at a heated council debate – the last before the summer recess. The council has already acknowledged the “detrimental” impact Brexit may have on the local economy.
