Blue Brazil deserved more reckons boss Bollan

-

Cowdenbeath manager Gary Bollan felt his side should have left Balmoral Stadium with a point.

The Blue Brazil battled back from 2-0 down to level through a Fraser Mullen penalty and a superb David Cox strike but left with nothing after Declan Glass hit a stunning injury-time winner for Paul Hartley’s side.

Bollan said: “In the latter stages of the game it looked like we were going to come away with a point as in the second half we showed a great bit of character to get ourselves back in the game.

“I know Declan Glass having watched him at Dundee United.

“I know how good a player he is and how dangerous he is when he’s 25 yards from goal, and he’s scored two wonder goals for Cove to win the game.

“We warned the players beforehand that if you allow him time and space, instead of showing him out wide, then he’s going to cause you problems, and he did that.

“We showed good character to come back from 2-0 down against a Cove side which has been installed as favourites, but we came here and we’ve matched them, and over the piece a draw was probably a fairer result.

“We hit the post in the first half and we got into some good areas but our final pass wasn’t the best.

“When we got the ball down and passed it we looked a reasonable football team.”

The victory capped a pleasing day for Cove, having confirmed the short-term signing of former Aberdeen, Wigan and Dundee United midfielder Fraser Fyvie before kick-off.

The 26-year-old played the full 90 minutes for the hosts.

Hartley said: “I thought Fraser Fyvie, with all his experience, was great for us today. I’m really pleased with him and it’s a great signing.”
