FALKLAND. The outing was to Glass by Kathryn at Wester Glasslie Farm. Kathryn told how she got into the business of making fused glass and that she now supplies 200 gift shops. Although there have been no meetings, members have been busy over the summer. The handcrafts community entry, Hats Galore, at Perth Show was highly commended and some of the individual entries won prizes. At Aberfeldy Show the handcrafts community entry won first prize and the Mrs MF Haggart Trophy. The housewives community entry was third and out of the 25 individual entries, more than half came first, second or third in their class.

LUNANHEAD. New president Alison Beattie welcomed members and friends on the summer trip to the Scottish Antiques and Arts Centre at Doune. The first meeting of the new season is tonight in Lunanhead Hall at 7.30pm. David Orr will give a talk on castles in Angus. NEW GILSTON and WOODSIDE. President Jean Carr welcomed members and visitors. Everyone had great fun painting a slate.
