Kelty beaten for first time by Cumbernaul­d

Dundonald Bluebell crashed out of the William Hill Scottish Cup, losing 6-1 at Auchinleck Talbot in their first preliminar­y round replay.

The game was all over by half time as the Ayrshire Junior giants blew the Fifers away and led 4-0 at the break courtesy of a brace from Jamie Glasgow alongside goals from Kerr Samson and Graham Wilson.

Samson added a second after the break and Mark Shankland scored a sixth for Talbot, while Matthew Gay scored a late consolatio­n for Bluebell.

In the Geosonics Lowland League, Kelty Hearts tasted defeat for the first time this season, losing 2-1 at Broadwood Stadium against Cumbernaul­d Colts.

Marty Wright and Stephen O’Neill put the colts in front before Nathan Austin pulled a goal back with eight minutes to go.

Burntislan­d Shipyard exited their second cup competitio­n in eight days as they lost 4-1 to Dalkeith Thistle at Kings Park in the second round of the Football Nation East of Scotland Qualifying Cup.

Crossgates Primrose were deserved 5-0 winners away from home at Ormiston, getting their season up and running with their first victory of the season. Scott Lawrie and Ryan Cowie both scored twice alongside a Lewis Sanders goal.

Four of the six teams from the region involved in the first round progressed.

Jeanfield Swifts came from behind to beat Broxburn Athletic at Riverside, Connor Kelly put the visitors in front on 28 minutes but Conor McLaren levelled it up, five minutes before half time. After the break Swifts took control with goals from Paul Simpson, Scott Smith and Keith Dewar.

Kinnoull maintained their 100% start to the season, beating Edinburgh United 5-2 at Tulloch Park. Scott Mollison scored twice with the other goals coming from Alan Cunningham, Gordon Norrie and Dale Smart.

Glenrothes thrashed Craigroyst­on 6-0 at Warout Stadium as Scott Russell scored a hat-trick.

It was an exciting game at Ballast Park as Inverkeith­ing Hillfield Swifts edged out Tweedmouth Rangers 3-2 with a stoppage-time winner when Callum Strang scored his second of the game after Callum Murray had opened things up.

St Andrews United took the lead away from home against Dunbar United but ultimately lost the tie after a penalty shootout.

Dylan Honeyman put Saints in front only for Fraser McLaren to equalise and the home side triumphed in the shoot-out, winning 4-3.

Oakley United exited the competitio­n losing 4-2 against Bo’ness United at Camelon’s Carmuirs Park.

The Fifers took an early lead but were pegged back by a Chris Donnelly strike but went back in front through an own goal.

Terry Hewitt equalised before Brian Morgan put the home side in front for the first time and Ryan Stevenson made sure of the win for Bo’ness.

Hill of Beath Hawthorn manager Kevin Fotheringh­am was delighted with his side’s performanc­e that led to the Haws winning 2-1 at Penicuik Athletic in the East of Scotland League Premier Division.

Regan Lumsden opened the scoring on 16 minutes and Joe Kirby doubled the advantage before the half-hour mark.

Penicuik pulled a goal back from the penalty spot with five minutes remaining but the visitors held on to take the three points.
