The Courier & Advertiser (Fife Edition)
Q Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know?
AI am a scaredy cat – I don’t do horror movies! The ones I have seen are trapped in my mind and only pop up when I am alone and I am scared again.
Q Favourite holiday destination? A
Marrakech, it is so vibrant, the colours, sights, sounds, scents and the tastiest and freshest fruits I have ever had.
Q What was the last book you read? A
Design as an Attitude by design critic Alice Rawsthorn. I saw her speak at V&A Dundee about this subject and it blew me away and the book did not disappoint. I love design history and how it has been used in such powerful ways.
Q What makes you sad? A
All that is going on in the world right now.
Q Do you believe in aliens? A
Hmm... no but there has to be some other life form out there, right?
Q Last meal on Earth? A
Oooh fish and chips, from a specific chippy in Edinburgh... forgotten the name of it, only been there once but it was the best fish supper I’ve ever had!
Q What was the first album you ever bought?
things were happening in the art world that had never been done before.
Q What do you do to unwind? A
I listen to music, sounds basic but music can take you to so many different places. I am listening to a lot of French music at the moment, I just love it.
Q Biggest regret? A
I am learning not to regret anything, it’s wasted energy.
Q Who do you admire most? A
Frida Kahlo.
Q What advice would you give to your younger self?
ADon’t think of your MS diagnosis as the end of your life, just go with it and – sounds crazy – but enjoy it.
Q What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever had to do?
ALooking back, having to take a year out of my jewellery and metal work degree was hard because I was giving in to my new label of being a chronically ill person living with MS. But it turned out it was the best thing I ever did.
Q Do you give money to beggars? A
Yes!
Q What have you got in your pockets?
ANo pockets – lockdown chic means leisurewear!
Q Where would you rather be right now?
