The Scottish Education Department’s attention has been directed to the fact that no mention has been made in a circular recently issued as to conferring with Advisory Committees for county districts in connection with the College of Agriculture. A Fife man is being held in custody over an alleged terrorist plot. The 22-year-old was arrested after armed counter terrorism officers swooped on a house in Glenrothes. Police said the local man was suspected of preparing “acts of terrorism”. Detective Chief Superintendent Phil Chapman said the operation had been intelligence-led and there was nothing to suggest any threat to the community. As forensics officers conducted a search of the house, shocked neighbours said they could not believe the allegations.
