-

A rape accused begged the father of a 14-yearold girl not to report him to the police, a jury heard yesterday.

Instead, the alleged vic tim’s 39 - year- old father, who lives in Cowdenbeath, said Dene Stevenson sent him a Facebook message saying “just come and give me a kicking”.

The schoolgirl’s mum, 37, claimed the accused also told her in a separate phone call that he would “take a doing” for allegedly raping her daughter.

Stevenson, 21, denies raping the schoolgirl in woods in Livingston, West Lothian, on October 20 2017 while she was “blackout drunk”.

Stevenson, of Rae burn Rigg, Livingston, also denies breaching bail and threatening his alleged victim on July 25 last year.

He has lodged a special defence claiming the girl consented to sexual activity with him.

On the second day of Stevenson’s trial at the High Court in Livingston, the girl’s dad said he learned of the alleged rape in late November 2017.

He said he messaged the accused on social media after his underage daughter told him she had not consented to sex.

He said :“I didn’ t expect a reply but he responded instantly saying he was ashamed of it, that he’d had sex with (my daughter) and that he wouldn’t do that if he was sober.

“He begged me not to go to the police, just to come and give him a kicking, those were his words.”

The alleged victim admitted that she couldn’ t remember some of the events of the night because it was “all a blur”, but she denied making up the rape claim.

The trial, before Lord Uist, continues.
